My name is Dr. Jinhee Hwang,
and I am the medical director of Humanity Plastic Surgery Clinic.
I hope you will become even more beautiful than you are today.
And I hope that, because of it, you will be a little happier than you are today.
With that happier heart, I hope you will find more strength for each of the days ahead of you.
Sometimes I think of myself as someone who rows a small ferry,
carrying you, through surgery, across to the world on the other shore: the world of ‘change.’
It is a crossing you have never made before, so almost everyone feels tense and afraid as they step aboard, and holds on tight to the boat.
But in hundreds, even thousands of patients, I have seen the moment they reach the other side and their faces fill with joyful smiles.
That is why, again today, I gather my strength and travel with you between the world before surgery and the world after.
What I can do for you is improve your outward appearance, but through it, I hope you will smile more and be happier.
I hope the smile and energy you regain will reach your family and the people you love, so that the place we all live becomes a little brighter and happier.
Picturing the moment when your surgery has gone as planned and we hold hands and celebrate together, I walk into the operating room again today with a hopeful, fluttering heart.
Every time I think about it, I feel truly grateful and happy to pour all my skill, effort, and love into that moment.
This is what I truly feel, and this is my love for you.
